Dress code policy/ 2022-2023
- American University School of the Middle East has its own Uniform with AUSME Logo. All students must commit to this uniform and appear in a clean, neat look every day.
- Students are allowed to wear the PE uniform only when they have a PE session.
- Hijab Policy: American University School of the Middle East allows Girls to wear only white, navy blue, black, or grey Hijab. Colorful Hijab and Hijabs with prints on them are prohibited.
- During trips, activities, and participation in competitions in or out of school, students are still required to wear the school uniform or the agreed on custom. If a student violates this rule, the school will exclude the student from the event.
The following is a list of infractions concerning students’ dress which are considered in violation of the students' dress code:
- Bare feet.
- Hats, caps, or stocking caps worn inside the building.
- Hair color should be a natural color (no blue, pink, no artificial blond or dyes etc.)
- Long Hair must be tight to the back ( no hair down is allowed)
- Inappropriately ripped and/or torn clothing.
- Bagging/sagging pants.
- No body piercing allowed in school with the exception of ear piercing.
- Jewelry and Accessories are prohibited.
- Nail polish is not allowed.
- Tattoos and Makeup are not allowed.
If the school administration decided to allow a free of uniform day, students have to follow these general guidelines:
- Avoid clothing that is too tight or sexually suggestive.
- Avoid shirts or tops that are strapless or have spaghetti straps.
- Skirts and shorts are not allowed
- Avoid pants that fall below the waistline.
- Avoid see-through clothing.
- Avoid cloths with quotes, expressions, and pictures.
- Jewelry and accessories are still not allowed.
- Cell phones are still not allowed
